At the exhibition opening for the Meyrin Fond d’art contemporain on the 5th February 2022, I presented a performance entitled Sub-Trahere / Pro-Trahere V2, performed by the dancer Olga Uzikaeva (RU) and the sound artist Mateo Luthy (CH). This performance followed on from a first version completed in Belgrade in 2020 during an artistic residence organised by the Meyrin Service de la culture.

In fact, the Meyrin Service de la culture having bought my painting called “Untitled”, produced for the first performance, and then presented it at their exhibition, I decided to reactivate “Untitled”, treating it as a live repository of shapes and shades.
Just like plant seeds blown by the wind, I like to think that my works blossom and become complete as their shoots grow and interweave, as well as through an appropriation of space. So, rather like putting down roots and at the same time producing a sudden flowering. For Sub-Trahere / Pro-Trahere V2, I therefore decided to take three colours from “Untitled” that I then reproduced as 3D elements in the form of latex sheets and wooden doweling rods.
These elements, emerging directly from the painting, were placed very precisely on the floor of the atrium of the Meyrin Forum, a few metres away from the painting itself.
Olga was asked to move through this installation, touching and moving the elements placed on the ground, following a diagonal trajectory, at a slow and measured pace. Mateo Luthy having placed microphones on the elements that Olga then moved around in the space, her body movements along with the sounds produced by the elements that were knocking and scraping against one another, created a sort of never-ending sound loop between – sound – echo of the sound – movement – sound – echo of the sound – movement, etc….

Le 5 février 2022, j’ai présenté pour le vernissage de l’exposition du Fond d’art contemporain de Meyrin une performance intitulée Sub-Trahere / Pro-Trahere V2 performée par la danseuse Olga Uzikaeva (RU) et l’artiste sonore Mateo Luthy (CH). Cette performance fait suite à une première version réalisée à Belgrade en 2020 lors d’une résidence artistique offerte par le Service de la culture de Meyrin.

En effet, Le Service de la culture de Meyrin m’ayant acheté une peinture intitulée « Sans-titre » issu de cette première performance et exposée durant l’exposition de la collection, j’ai décidé de réactiver « Sans-titre » en la considérant comme une réserve active de formes et de teintes.
À l’image de graines de haricots disséminées au vent, j’aime à penser que mes pièces prennent leur essor final en développant et nouant leurs tiges entre elles mais aussi à la conquête d’un espace. À la fois un enracinement donc, mais également une poussée vitale. Pour Sub-Trahere / Pro-Trahere V2, j’ai donc décidé d’extraire trois coloris de « Sans-titre » que j’ai ensuite matérialisé en élément 3D sous forme de tâches de latex et de tourillons de bois.
Ces éléments, sortes d’émanations directes de la peinture, furent installés selon une disposition bien précise dans l’atrium de Forum Meyrin, à quelques mètres de la peinture.
Olga était invitée à traverser cette installation, interagissant avec ces éléments au sol, selon une trajectoire diagonale parcourue à une cadence lente et précise. Mateo Luthy ayant placé des micros sur les éléments qu’Olga déplaçait dans l’espace, les mouvements du corps, alimentés par les sons que produisaient ces éléments entrechoqués, frottés, composaient une sorte de boucle sempiternelle entre – son – écho du son – mouvement – son – écho du son – mouvements, etc…
